Marco Lodola was born in Dorno (Pavia). 
He attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and Milan and concluded his studies by discussing a thesis on the Fauves, who with Matisse will be a point of reference for his work, as well as Fortunato Depero and Beato Angelico. 
At the beginning of the 80s around the Gallery of Luciano Inga Pin, in Milan, Marco lodola founded, with a group of artists, the movement of the New Futurism, of which the critic Renato Barilli was the main theorist. 
Since 1983 he has exhibited in major Italian and European cities such as Rome, Milan, Florence, Bologna, Lyon, Vienna, Madrid, Barcelona, Paris and Amsterdam. 
Marco lodola participates in exhibitions and projects for important industries such as Swatch, Coca Cola, Vini Ferrari, Titan, Grafoplast, Harley Davidson, Ducati, Riva, Illy (series of signature cups),  Dash, Carlsberg, Nonino, Valentino, Coveri, Fabbri, I Mirabili, Shenker, Seat and Lauretana. 
In 1994 he was invited to exhibit by the government of the People's Republic of China in the premises of the former archives of the imperial city of Beijing. 
In 1996 Marco Lodola  began working in the United States in Boca Raton, Miami and New York. 
He participated in the XII Quadriennale of Rome and the VI Biennial of Sculpture of Montecarlo. 
Several collaborations with contemporary writers including Aldo Busi, Claudio Apone, Marco Lodoli, Giuseppe Pulina, Tiziano Scarpa and Giuseppe Cederna, and with musicians: the 883 of Max Pezzali, Timoria, Jovanotti, Andy (Bluvertigo) and Syria. 
In the summer of '98, on behalf of Saatchi & Saatchi, he executed the drawings for the affiches of Piazza del Popolo in Rome, for the Opera Lirica Tosca by Puccini. 
In 2000 Marco Lodola, who has always been linked to the theme of dance, was commissioned by the Teatro Massimo in Palermo to create "Gli avidi lumi", four luminous totems six meters high, depicting significant episodes of the nine works on the bill. For the occasion, a video-documentary by Sergio Pappalettera is made. 
The sculptures will remain placed in the major city squares, as has already happened in Montecarlo, Riccione, Faenza, Bologna, Paestum and at the Visconteo Castle of Pavia, São Paulo and Cagliari. 
He is the author of the works awarded to the winners of the 2001 edition of the Nonino Literary Prize. 
In 2001 Marco Lodola was in charge of taking care of the image of the Venice Carnival. For the occasion, the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation organizes the exhibition "Futurisms in Venice" with his works and those of Fortunato Depero. 
In June 2002 he created the luminous sculpture "A tutta birra" dedicated to the figure of the great entrepreneur Venceslao Menazzi Moretti, which is located in the new city park of Udine, where the first factory of the famous beer stood.
In 2003 he created the luminous "Venerea" as part of the exhibition "Venere Svelata" by Umberto Eco held at the Palazzo delle Belle Arti in Brussels. In the same year he set up the exhibition "Controluce" at the Palazzo del Turismo in Riccione, an exhibition that in 2004 was transferred to São Paulo in Brazil (Museo Brasileiro da Escultura Marilisa Rathsam), to Rio de Janeiro (Museo de Arte Moderna), to Mexico City (Polyforum Siqueiros) and to the Museo Regional de Guadalajara. 
In 2005 Marco Lodola  created a poster for the Turin Winter Olympics, a collection of furniture for Mirabili, the pink jersey for the 88th Giro d'Italia, the logo for the broadcast "Speciale per voi..." by Renzo Arbore, as well as the new image of Roxy bar for Red Ronnie. 
In 2006 he placed another luminous sculpture at the international airport of Mexico City, and for Christmas a sculpture in Piazza di Spagna (Rome). It also creates the image of the centenary of Gandhi's peace movement. 
In 2007 he created the logo for the 50th anniversary of ARCI, the image of the 70th Maggio Fiorentino, the logo for the Myths of Music for Volkswagen, the image for the 100th anniversary of Fiat Avio and the 110th anniversary of the foundation of Juventus  and the Air One brand. 
In 2008 Marco Lodola set up the façade of the Ariston and the Casino on the occasion of the 58th San Remo Festival and the sets of the film "Questa notte è ancora nostra" with Nicolas Vaporidis. On the occasion of the European Canoe Championships in Milan he created a bright canoe and for the bus lines Stav created "Festivalbus", a bus decorated with some works. 
In October he created a light installation on the façade of Palazzo Penna in Perugia, on the occasion of the exhibition "Infinita città", curated by Luca Beatrice.
In 2009 he set up in Milan in Piazza del Duomo the "Rock'n'Music Planet", the first rock museum in Europe, with 25 sculptures representing musical myths. 
He participates in the 53rd edition of the Venice Biennale with the installation "Balletto Plastico", dedicated to the Futurist Theatre. 
In 2010 he created the luminous sculpture "FIAT LUX" for the Mirafiori MotorVillage in Turin, revisited the logo for the Montebianco tunnel, designed the image of the Umbria Jazz 2010 poster, participated in the Shanghai International Expo and created an icon-sculpture for the Hilton Hotel group. 
In 2011 Marco Lodola participated in the Venice Biennale with the installation "Ca' Lodola", curated by Vittorio Sgarbi, at the Ca' d'Oro on the Grand Canal. His works are chosen by the designer Vivienne Westwood as the setting for the men's a/w fashion show during the milan fashion week. He collaborates with Citroen for an installation in via della Spiga in Milan called "Citroen Full Electric". He exhibits in London. He collaborates with Dash and Unicef for the charity initiative against neonatal tetanus with the luminous sculpture "Mother Nature", exhibited in Piazza Cordusio in Milan.  
In 2012 Marco Lodola exhibited with an important solo show, curated by Luca Beatrice, at the Palazzo de' Medici in Florence. His works participate in the "Made in Italy in the World", during the Beijing Luxury Property Showcase. With the Nuovo Futurismo Group he exhibited in Rovereto at Casa Depero and in Milan at Spazio Oberdan. 
She collaborated with Sanrio-Hello Kitty for a charity project in favor of Emergency. 
Some works are in the scenography of the program Metropolis for the Comedy Central channel and The Apprentice with Flavio Briatore. 
In 2013 he exhibited in Geneva for the Bel Air Fine Art Gallery.  
At the Museum of the Park - International Center of Outdoor Sculpture of Portofino is inaugurated the sculpture Red Dragon. 
In October 2013 he placed for Class Horses the luminous sculpture Pegaso. 
In 2014 in April he exhibited in Moscow for Harmont & Blaine with exceptional godmother Sofia Loren, in June he inaugurated a solo show at the Evita Peròn Museum in Buenos Aires and at the Museo du Futebol in São Paulo on the occasion of the World Cup in Brazil. In autumn he created the "Ponticino" lighting on the Ponte dell'Impero in Pavia. 
In 2015 Marco Lodola is present at the 56th edition of the Venice Biennale in the Costa Rican Pavilion with the work "Hermosa Bandera".
