Banksy is one of the most famous street-artists in the world. He was born as a writer but then adopted the stencil technique for his works, which appeared on the walls of many major cities around the world. Banksy was able to bring the general public closer to the world of contemporary art thanks to the immediacy of the message present in his works. Banksy is actually a pseudonym and his true identity has never been revealed. According to some studies, Banksy attended a private school until adolescence and never enrolled in the Academy of Fine Arts. He started painting in Barton Hill, a youth centre located on the outskirts of Bristol where writers gathered, thus approaching the world of street art. Among his installations we must certainly remember the opening of a dystopian amusement park, Dismaland, created near London in the summer of 2015, but closed in September of the same year. His works deal with challenging themes but they do so through concrete and immediately understandable images.
