Emilia Agosti

Biography

Artist from Bergamo, in childhood he was formed by the internationally renowned painter Angela Marini, thanks to whom he approached his first steps in the field of art in a spontaneous, free and creative way. He deepened different painting techniques during the attendance of the state art school of Bergamo. Here also sparks the spark towards the history of art, aesthetics and philosophy: immersing herself completely in these disciplines the artist matures a greater awareness that helps her in the creation of her own identity and in the elaboration of her own poetics. After graduating first in Philosophy and then in Philosophical Sciences, the need to express her instinctive side through the theater comes forward more and more, recovering a more carnal and visceral relationship with artistic creation. This experience helps her to listen more to her impulses and empty her mind of judgments to leave the space open to creative spontaneity, applying this method in a more conscious way also in painting. From this discipline she therefore inherits a method and a fundamental approach to artistic creation, which consists in being in a state of spontaneity and listening to one's inner movements through a physical training that prepares her for action: this is the ritual that she practices every time before painting to prepare herself to "stay in the body" instead of "stay in the mind". Body and gestural art then that of Emilia Agosti who passes from the informal gesture, to the informal material, to get to abstractionism and body printing, her latest experimentation that also finds an outlet in the dimension of performance.
