Cristina Ricci Curbastro

Biography

Born in Genoa in 1966, Cristina Ricci Curbastro graduated from the Art Institute for Ceramics in Faenza and then attended the two-year specialization in plastic art. Later she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna attending the sculpture course. Currently he combines his artistic activity with that of interior design. Cristina is the great-granddaughter of the famous mathematician Gregorio Ricci Curbastro whose work allowed Albert Einstein to arrive at his theory of relativity. For some time he has been working on expressive forms that seem to hide a "paradoxical union" with those structures elaborated using the scientific language of his illustrious great-grandfather, perhaps confirming the "indissoluble bond" between history and family. The study of geometries and volumes have always accompanied his plastic art, which, embracing the legacy of the Bauhaus, has also materialized in interiors and design, with decidedly original and innovative results.
